The premier snowboard tour in America comes to Mt. Bachelor January 5-8, 2006
Bend, Ore. – Jan 3, 2006 This Thursday marks the beginning of the Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix at Mt. Bachelor. This is the seventh year Mt. Bachelor has hosted this national event. The Grand Prix will take place Thursday, January 5, 2006 through Sunday, January 8. Events include Slopestyle and Superpipe, with the Superpipe competition serving as a qualifier for this year’s Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy.
The competition starts with Slopestyle on Thursday with men’s and women’s qualifiers. The Superpipe qualifiers will be all day Friday. The finals for Superpipe will be on Saturday, January 7 with warm-ups at 11:00 A.M. and the finals starting at noon. Finals for Slopestyle will be held on Sunday, January 8, with warm-ups again at 11:00 A.M. and finals starting at noon.
Spectating is free to guests, simply hike the 150 yards to the Superpipe.
